Our Classic Golf Course

Today SGC's 18 holes sports a course rating of 70.9 and a slope of 118 on bent grass greens, with a par of 72 and over 6,400 yards. The course offers a putting green and driving range for our Member's enjoyment.

Par 3 - 246 Yards

The second par 3 on the front nine plays downhill from an elevated tee, and requires a low iron to a driver, depending on the tee being played. The hole plays over the valley to a green that slopes slightly downward from the front-right to back-left. The green is guarded by a deep bunker on the right, and a bunker down the left, and a group of pine trees behind the green, which are well-positioned to catch an errant tee shot. Walking away with a par can feel like a birdie.

Par 4 - 327 Yards

This short par 4 requires an accurate tee shot to find a very narrow sloping fairway. Longer hitters are rewarded if their tee shot finds its way to the bottom of the slope with a view of the green. Shorter tee shots may leave you with a blind second shot into the small green. The green is guarded by a creek in front, and a bunker to the right of the green. The subtly sloped green can leave golfers puzzled, par is a very good score here.
